My Life...........
I no longer have any means and I have in fact filed for bankruptcy for the store. With such an inadequate source of funds, I really need assistance with my expansion. Before I got involved with the jewelry business, I was a part of the Army. I served under the Officers Leadership Division of the First Army, where I was a Second Lieutenant. I served in the early sixties, during the early days of the Vietnam War. I was serving in the capacity of a Supply Officer and when I was discharged, I had the rank of First Lieutenant. My military tenure lasted all of two years and has become a significant part of my life and experience. My experience in the jewelry is comprised of around 33 years running various companies. In fact, I successfully ran six jewelry stores around the Connecticut area. The companies operated under the name of Diamond , with its corporation name of Incorporated. The business probably peaked in 1990 when the companies that I own and operate reached sales of over 10 million dollars. It was the second largest retail jeweler in Connecticut. The turnaround came when the Bank enacted a policy change stating that it no longer deals with retailers and they instantly called a $500,000.00 note secured by my inventory. The act effectively cut off my supply of funds from the bank and eventually forced me into bankruptcy. They wanted to run my business so I sold out despite huge losses. |

I am going to buy jewelry in wholesale instead of retail and serve the local and surrounding areas although our location is primarily urban. The funds would also be spent for promoting the store through radio, newspapers, and television. At the moment, I am also into researching the variety types of other wholesalers. All these troubled me, I must admit, until I found an answer. I do not know whether my answer will satisfy an exacting
reader capable of judging the idea, subject matter and form of a picture by its reproduction. I am perfectly aware that any interpretation of an excellent and profoundly meaningful painting may and often should be argued. I do not want to sound peremptory: this is nothing more than a hypothesis, an effort to reconcile my own interpretation of the picture in question with its inner meaning and artistic logic. In money poetry the most striking feature is its terseness, its ability to compress much into a single line: to pinpoint a moment and scan a century, to tread a forest path and gaze up at the splendour of the night sky. A short poem may deal "with life and death, pass from personal experience to the wisdom of generations. In much the same way jewelry's business is something of a medley of things remembered. And here we have an anomaly: a songa synthesis of words and melody heard one moment and gone the next embodied in colours and form on a piece of canvas. Viewing the whole, we come to understand that it is a song we see, though a song performed in colours rather than vocally. What mastery of colour and composition one must have to achieve the almost unachievable! |
